As soon as the video came to our knowledge, we conducted research and found the original video on the YouTube channel of Zee News. According to Zee news this video is from 1998. The original video shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying, “Hindutva is an article of faith for us. It is not a card to play the electoral game.”

PM Modi is heard saying: “Hindutva. ye, chunavi khel khelne ke liye ek tash ka patta nahi hai”. The word ‘nahi’ has been removed from the original video and shared with false claims.

Hence it is evident from D-Intent Data’s fact-check that the video has been digitally altered and has nothing to do with reality.
