FACTCHECK: Man tied upside down, brutally thrashed for trying to steal coffee bags

FACT: A sensitive video is being circulated on social media in which some people can be seen torturing a man tied with a rope. Users sharing video with the claim that the man was beaten up because of his identity but according to reports the victim was trying to steal recently harvested coffee bags from the estate of a man named Papanna. The thief came into the estate for the second time and was caught red handed. The incident took place in Arehali in Belur taluk of Hassan district.This incident has nothing to do with victims identity rather his wrong doings. Police have taken and arrested five people in connection with the incident.

INTENT: Users sharing video with wrong context, just giving it caste angle to spread hate between people.
