Uttar Pradesh Police Beat Devotees in Mathura, Falsely Claimed To Be From Kolkata, West Bengal: Fact-Check 

A video purporting to be from West Bengal shows a devotee complaining about police harassment while visiting a temple.

@TriShool_Achuk shared the video and made the claim that the devotee from West Bengal complained about police harassment during the temple visit. The user added “Note- In the video, the girl is repeating the abusive words spoken by the inspector…..”. The tweet was made on Feb 27, 2024, which has received an about 10.6k views on X.

Several other accounts, including @mjoshi50, @RohitSa1110, @RajeshP42031571 made the same claim that the shared video shows a devotee from West Bengal, who is heard complaining about police harassment while visiting a temple. The archive can be read from above.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

There is no connection between the West Bengal police and this incident, it happened in Madhura, Uttar Pradesh. The devotees had travelled from Kolkata to Braj, where they were beaten and mistreated by the police for bringing their vehicle beyond the barrier.
