Israel-Palestine Conflict- Old Video Of RT Journalist Visiting Saraya Al-Quds Tunnel Resurfaced With False Claims: Fact-Check 

A video purporting to be recent, features an RT journalist visiting an underground tunnel, claiming to be from the ongoing conflict.

Aditya Raj Kaul (“@AdityaRajKaul“), Executive Editor of TV9 Network, claimed in his twitter post that a journalist from Russia Today was granted access to the Gaza Terror Tunnel Network by Hamas terrorist groups, as Israel started to target the network. The twitter post was made on Oct 31, 2023, which has received an about 4.4M views on X.

According to Major Surendra Poonia (“@MajorPoonia“), the viral video of the Hamas Tunnel networks is from underneath Gaza- Gaza Metro. The user also added in the post that all aids made in support of the Palestinian people goes here and protects the terrorists of Hamas from Israeli attacks, which is why the average Palestinian has neither electricity nor water. The viral post was reposted by 2k user accounts, contributing to the spread of the information.

Many other verified accounts on twitter, including Israel MyChannel (“@IsraelMychannel“) claimed that it is the RT on ground report from underneath Gaza. What is the Actual Reality About the Viral Incident? : Fact

In actuality, this is a video from more than two years ago, showing a journalist from RT Arabic visiting the Saraya Al-Quds tunnel in June of 2021. It is related to the current war.

RTARABIC (“@RTarabic“) tweeted the same video on June 14, 2021 with the caption “Exclusive: Artie team enters the Saraya al-Quds tunnels under the land of Gaza and monitors their depth and restoration operations after the last war #غزة #فلسطين“. This shows that the video in question is actually old.
