Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh— Video Of Advocate Dharam Singh Jatav Viral as an IAS Officer: Fact-Check

A video purporting to show an IAS officer has gone viral, showing a disabled individual crawling and crossing a road after getting out of a car.

UPSC Network (“@upscnetwork4“) shared the video and tweeted that it’s an inspiration to see a disabled individual as an IAS officer. The tweet was made on Nov 9, 2023, which has received an about 298.9k views on X.

In actuality, he is an advocate named Dharam Singh Jatav, a state minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, and a member of the Disability Advisory Board, not an IAS officer. Many are falsely spreading the video of disbled individial for promoting the IAS exam.

We discovered a YouTube channel named after him, where a number of his videos are available. According to the YouTube channel, Bijnor visited the area to conduct an inspection in this particular video. As stated, there isn’t an IAS officer in the video.
