Gujarat — Digitally Altered Images Of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wife, Jashodaben Modi Viral With False Claims: Fact-Check

A photo that has been digitally altered and shared as authentic depicts Jashodaben Modi, the wife of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, holding a placard that is directed at the prime minister.

Several other accounts, including @Nimra__Voice claimed in a twitter post indicating the Prime Minister that if he has the courage then he should go to Gujarat and say ‘Bibi-o-Bibi’ as many times as he have said ‘Didi-o-Didi’ in West Bengal. What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

We were able to locate the original photo in which she is seen holding an application. The photo was taken in 2014 when she submitted an RTI application to the Gujarat state government. The image going viral is fake and fabricated. It has nothing to do with actuality.

We visited BBC News, which published an article on Nov 25, 2014 on the same incident with the headline “India PM Modi’s wife Jashodaben airs safety concerns”.

Hindustan Times also posted the article on Jan 2, 2015 with the headline ” Security cover: Jashodaben continues her RTI fight”. Jashodaben Modi, the estranged wife of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has once again submitted an RTI application, according to her brother, asking for information about the facilities and security cover she is entitled to.
