False reports are being spread by propagandists, who say that the Manipur government  relinquished Arambai Tengol the power in Imphal.

SouthAsia Solidarity (“@SAsiaSolidarity“) tweeted “With no questions asked and no publicity outside #Manipur, the state government is being taken over by the #Arambai_Tenggol and other well-armed militant sessionist groups who continue their vicious attacks on Kuki-Zo people” on Jan 25, 2024. The tweet has received an about more than 4k views on X.

Several other accounts, including @DrLamtinthangHk made the same claim that at Kangla Fort, 37 MLAs, including MPs from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, were coerced into taking oath of allegiance to the Armed Militia Arambai Tengol in Imphal.  The archive can be read from above.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

In actuality, this news is false. All of the Meitei community’s legislators promised to uphold the state’s integrity and promised to bring the people’s concerns to the attention of the Centre during a public meeting called by the Arambai Tenggol at Manipur’s Kangla Fort. The picture depicts a number of MLAs and MPs that were present at the Kangla Fort meeting in Imphal.
