A video circulating online depicts a person striking himself, accompanied by claims that a Hezbollah member has lost his mental stability following the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon. However, this video is actually old, having been available since at least April 24, 2024, and is unrelated to Nasrallah’s death.
Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter) serial fake news peddler and propagandist account @FrontalForce wrote. “Many Hezbollah members have lost their mental balance after hearing news of the killing of their chief Nasrallah”.
Another propaganda account @jpsin1 also shared the video and wrote. “A Hezbollah member mourns the death of Nasrallah” (Translated from Hindi).

As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that the video was not related to Hassan Nasrallah’s death. But an old video from a different event.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google Lens. This led us to multiple social media posts containing the same visuals uploaded much before the death of Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut.
During research, we found a video depicting the same place and an individual performing similar activities. According to the social media posts(YouTube, Instagram), the individual performs religious activities. We couldn’t find more details about the video. But it is clear that the video was not related to the death of Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah.
