Fact Check: Indian Sikh Man Never Mentioned Merging With Pakistan

Pakistan-based propaganda accounts are circulating a video of an individual criticizing the state and central governments over the flood situation in Punjab, falsely claiming that the man said the Indian government deliberately flooded Punjab and that it would be better to merge with Pakistan. In reality, the complete video shows him only expressing disappointment with both governments for their handling of the flood situation. At no point does he mention merging with Pakistan.

The claim was initially pushed by a propaganda account @TacticalTribun and later amplified by influencer @w_taj728206, who falsely captioned the clip: “An Indian Sikh says Indian Govt deliberately flooded Indian Punjab. It’ll be better to merge with Pakistan.”

Truth: Full Video Shows No Mention of Pakistan

As this claim gained traction, it drew our attention. The D-Intent Data Team conducted an investigation. we start investigation by using reverse image search and keyword research. We traced the full video back to the YouTube channel Bold Punjab TV. Our review confirms that the individual was only voicing frustration over the government’s flood management. At no point did he suggest that Punjab should merge with Pakistan.

Propaganda accounts are spreading this fabricated narrative to exploit Punjab’s flood crisis and push anti-India disinformation.
