A video showing an under-construction house with a replica of the Statue of Liberty installed on top, along with several workers on the roof completing the installation, has been shared with claims that a man from Punjab installed the statue on his rooftop after his US visa was canceled, and a bulldozer arrived to demolish it. However, we found that the video was old and unrelated to the Visa rejection.

The truth about the video shared as installation of Statue of Liberty, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video. We found that these claims about Visa rejection were false and self-invented.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video using Google Lens. This led us to media reports containing the same visuals published in May 2024. According to reports (1, 2, 3, 4), this video dates back to May 2024. It depicts an 18-foot-tall replica of the Statue of Liberty installed atop a newly constructed house in Langiana Nawan village, Moga district, Punjab.
The homeowner, Gurmeet Singh Brar, a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) settled in Indiana, USA, commissioned this fiberglass statue as a tribute to America, expressing gratitude for the opportunities he has received since migrating there in 2006. Additionally, no verified sources suggest that the statue was demolished.
Hence, verified sources confirm that the installation of the Statue of Liberty replica was not related to the visa rejection.
