Fact Check: Fake Video Falsely Attributes Communal Remarks to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

Pakistani propaganda accounts are circulating a digitally altered video of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, falsely claiming that he told Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the Indian Army must be “saffronised” to remain pure and demanded the removal of so-called non-caste Hindus from its ranks. The claim further alleges that failure to achieve these goals by 2028 would result in Yogi Adityanath taking over. These claims are completely false and fabricated.

The manipulated clip and narrative were amplified by several Pakistani propaganda accounts, including @InsiderWB, @Dukhtar__KPK, @Aqqssaa12, and @MinishKhan2, which falsely presented the video as authentic.

Truth: Video Is Digitally Manipulated

As the false claim gained traction on social media, it drew our attention. The D-Intent Data Team conducted a detailed frame-by-frame investigation and keyword research to verify the authenticity of the viral video. Our analysis revealed multiple signs of digital manipulation, including mismatched audio, altered pacing, and misleading captions. By tracing the broadcast watermark and visual cues, we located the original, unedited footage on the CNN-News18 YouTube channel, titled:
“RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat: ‘Have To Stay United’ Amid Atrocities Against Hindus in Bangladesh | N18G.”

In the original video, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat makes no statements about saffronising the Indian Army, removing any community from its ranks, issuing political ultimatums, or involving Yogi Adityanath in any capacity. The viral clip circulating online has been selectively edited and digitally altered to fabricate a communal and political narrative. Furthermore, claims suggesting the saffronisation of the Indian Army or exclusion of any group are entirely baseless and contradict the Army’s constitutional, secular structure. No credible media outlet, official source, or public record supports the claims being circulated. The video is therefore fake, and the narrative surrounding it is part of a coordinated disinformation campaign originating from Pakistani propaganda networks.

Intent:

Propaganda accounts are circulating digitally altered videos of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat with self-invented claims to set their narrative against India.
