Fact Check: Disturbing Footage of Land Dispute in Gazipur, Bangladesh, Shared with False Communal Narratives

Sensitive visuals depicting a violent attack and severely injured individuals are being shared, alleging that Islamic radicals viciously assaulted three Hindu minorities with an axe in Kaliganj, Gazipur District, for cutting water hyacinths from the river. However, these claims of religious hate crimes are false and misleading. Local reports clarify that both the attackers and victims are from the same community, and the incident was actually related to a land dispute.

Sharing the visuals on X (Formerly Twitter), propaganda account @HinduVoice_in wrote, “Bangladesh. All three victims are in critical condition, fighting for their lives.”
