Truth revealed: Gujarat cleric arrested for promoting enmity, not for detailing animal sacrifice rituals
As soon as the posts came to our knowledge, we tried to find if the claims are true or false. We conducted research and found multiple reports regarding the claims made by social media users.
According to report, The Bharuch district police has booked the accused — Maulvi Abdul Rahim Rathod, who is a cleric of Daru Uloom Barkat-e-Khwaja — for “promoting enmity” after his social media post describing the Islamic “ritualistic procedure” for animal sacrifice enlisted the cow among other slaughter animals such as camels and buffaloes. Notably, the cleric was out on bail after his arrest in a 2022 case for alleged conversion of tribals in the district.
According to Deshgujarat, Two days after arresting Maulvi Abdul Rahim Rathod. The Bharuch District Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested another man named Shabbir Ali Patel, vice-president of Darul Uloom Barkat-e-Khwaja in Amod. During their investigation, the Bharuch SOG determined that Patel had drafted the message and handed it to Abdul Rahim Rathod.
