False claims disseminated by propagandists about Saurya Airlines plane crash
ISPR-funded Pakistan-based anti-India propaganda accounts have disseminated false and self-invented claims about the Saurya Airlines plane crash at Kathmandu airport.
Serial fake news peddler and propagandist account @PSYWAROPS has made a long post on X and said. The Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) was involved in the recent plane crash at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. R&AW was conducting a special mission and had placed an explosive device in the Luggage compartment of the aircraft, which detonated during takeoff, leading to the crash.
Another anti-India propaganda account from Pakistan @HelloPKofficial has also made two posts ( 1, 2) regarding the plane crash. He said, “Disturbing reports indicate that the Kathmandu plane crash wasn’t an accident. Blame RAW for orchestrating this deadly act with an explosive device”.
The Truth behind the claims about Saurya Airlines plane crash, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the claims came to our notice, we conducted research and found that the plane crashed due to a runway excursion during takeoff. There is no news of any incident of explosion in the plane.
During research, we found a report on ‘The Kathmandu Post’, according to the report. The aircraft had suffered a runway excursion and plunged into a gorge on the eastern side of the airport.
The accident occurred after the Pokhara-bound flight suffered a runway excursion during takeoff, said TIA Spokesperson Subash Jha.
