Fact Check: Indian soldiers and volunteers serving in the Israeli Army and committing crimes against Palestinians?

Propagandists are disseminating unfounded and fabricated claims alleging that Indian soldiers, particularly those with Hindu nationalist affiliations and volunteers, are participating in the Israeli Army’s actions against Palestinians. These claims falsely suggest that such individuals are involved in committing atrocities. However, there is no factual basis for these assertions, as no Indian soldiers or volunteers are currently serving in the Israeli Army.

Hamas sympathizer account Paul Williams ( @freemonotheist ) shared a statement that reads. “SOME OF THE WORST MASSACRES COMMITTED AGAINST PALESTINIANS IN GAZA ARE BY INDIAN SOLDIERS SERVING IN THE ISRAELI ARMY. INDIAN HINDU NATIONALISTS ARE VOLUNTEERING TO FIGHT IN THE ISRAELI ARMY FOR THE JOΥ OF KILLING MUSLIMS. Said Dr Khaled Abou El Fadl, UCLA Professor of Law”

Several other users, influencers and propagandists have also shared the same statement and made similar claims. Their posts can be seen here, @jrafati, @rima_allaham123, @luckydays1204

The truth behind the claims, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the statement and claims came to our notice, we conducted research and analysis of the statement and found that all the allegations were not true.

To verify the claims made by the users and Self-proclaimed intellectuals. We performed intensive research regarding the claims and found no credible sources supporting the claims. No Indian soldiers and Hindu nationalist volunteers are serving in the Israeli Army. However, according to reports, more than 200 Indian Jews, members of the Bnei Menashe community who migrated to Israel, have been fighting for Israel since the beginning of the war. However, the claims about Indian soldiers and Hindu nationalist volunteers serving in the Israeli Army are false and self-invented.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the claims made by propagandists are false and self-invented.

Intent

Social media users, influencers and propagandists are circulating false and self-invented claims about Indians to set their narrative over the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.
