Users have shared the video and projected it as police brutality against Muslims. D-Intent Data has found that the viral video is old and has nothing to do with religion. Sharing the video, @FaryalBD said “Police brutality on an elderly Muslim man. Ya Allah, help us”.
Research, Analysis and Fact: Old video of Policeman brutally thrashing old man from Jabalpur resurfaced with false claims
As soon as the video came to our knowledge, we tried to find if the claims are true or false. Subsequently, we did a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google which led us to several news reports regarding the video.
According to reports India Today, Dainik Bhaskar, Jagran. This is an old video of a police constable brutally thrashing an old man at Jabalpur railway station in Madhya Pradesh in July 2022. The cop from Rewa district was suspended, after a video of him beating an old man has gone viral.
As per the reports the elderly man had an altercation with the police constable and his fellow passengers at the station.
The accused police constable was identified as Anant Mishra. He was suspended from his post and a criminal case was also registered after the video came to light. The victim was identified as Gopal Prasad.
The viral video is from July 2022 and has nothing to do with police brutality against Muslim individuals.

Bangladesh-based anti-India propaganda accounts circulated sensitive old videos. And made communal claims to set their narrative to create communal disharmony in India.
