Another fake news peddler and self-proclaimed OSINT account @FrontalForce has also shared the video and captioned “He is Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah from Nigeria”.
Amitabh Chaudhary (@MithilaWaala) also shared the video and wrote, ” He is Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah from Nigeria”.
The truth about the viral video of US food service worker spitting on pizza, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the video of an individual spitting on pizza came to our notice, we conducted research and found that this is an old video from the USA and has nothing to do with Nigeria.
To verify the claims made by the propagandists. We did a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google. And found several media reports containing the same visuals of a man spitting on food.
According to the reports (detroitnews, globalnews.ca). This is an old video from the USA. Where a 20-year-old food service worker at Comerica Park in Detroit was caught spitting on Pizza in September 2018. The food service worker was identified as Jaylon Kerley, during the incident, he was working at Comerica Park.
We also found local media coverage video regarding the incident, according to WXYZ-TV Detroit, Jaylon Kerley, 20, of Detroit was charged in connection with spitting on pizza dough he was preparing while working at a concession stand in Comerica Park.
Hence, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the video of a food service worker spitting in a pizza is not from Nigeria and his name is not Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah, but Jaylon Kerley.
