Fact Check: Scripted video of biker harassing an elderly, handicapped man circulated with communal claims

A video depicting a biker harassing an elderly, handicapped, bearded man—kicking his tricycle and pulling his skull cap—has been circulated as a religious hate crime against a Muslim man in Jharkhand. However, our investigation revealed that the video was scripted, and all individuals involved belonged to the same community (Muslim).

Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter) propagandist account @iamharunkhan wrote, “A bike rider is beating a elder Muslim handicapped & breaking his Rickshaw by kicking it”

Another propaganda account @common000786Om also shared the video and wrote, “So much hatred for Muslims?? This coward ran away after insulting an old man. This incident is from Jharkhand. Make it viral by reposting it” (Translated from Hindi)

Serial fake news peddler, extremist and propagandist account @AsianDigest also shared the video and wrote, “A Hindu Extremist Thug beating up an elderly Muslim man, who is physically handicapped, breaking up his tricycle and removing his skullcap. Islamophobia.”

Several other Influencers and propagandists have also disseminated the video and made similar claims. Their posts can be seen here, @HindGazette, @PoojaMathur01, @AshrafFem, @WasimAkramTyagi, @Karishma_voice, @Chandnii__, @ManrajM7, @INDStoryS, @Millat_Times, @Ramraajya.

The truth about the video of biker harassing an elderly, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our attention. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video. We found that the video was not a real-life situation but a scripted content.

To verify the claims made by propagandists. Performed a reverse image search of some keyframes from the viral video using Google Lens. This led us to a YouTube video containing the same visuals. We discovered the original and longer version of the video uploaded by Muklesur Bhaijaan (Muklesur Ali). Muklesur Bhaijaan frequently posts similar content, most of which are scripted videos as part of his bike-riding vlogs. This suggests that the incident may not be an actual hate crime but rather a staged or scripted act intended for social media engagement.

Furthermore, upon closer examination, we noticed the bike’s registration number and, using multiple vehicle detail websites, found that it is registered under the name “FIROJ SEKH,” indicating that the bike owner belongs to the same community as the victim.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the video was not a real-life incident of a hate crime against Muslim individuals. In reality, the video was scripted, and all involved individuals were from the same community.
