A sensitive video depicting a man being apprehended with a suitcase containing a woman’s corpse is being widely circulated on social media. Numerous users, influencers, and propagandists are sharing the video, alleging that a Muslim man murdered his Hindu girlfriend and concealed her body in a suitcase. However, D-Intent Data has determined that the incident is not recent but an old video of murder from Kaliyar in Uttarakhand. The individuals involved, both the victim and the accused, were from the Muslim community and had no connection to the Hindu girl.
Sensitive old video of murder from Kaliyar disseminated with communal claims
Several users, influencers and propagandists have shared the sensitive video showing a woman’s corpse inside a suitcase and made communal claims.
Misinformation propaganda account @Modified_Hindu9 shared the video on X (Formerly Twitter) and wrote. Here is Abdul’s girlfriend in another suitcase, Did you enjoy getting love? I had already bought it for her, #JihadiCrimes #JihadiEcosystem.
Another propaganda account @AzatAlsalim has also made a post and said, “Another day, another Hindu woman fell victim to Abdul!.”
Imtiaz Mahmood @ImtiazMadmood has also shared the video and wrote, “Love Jihad Olympics in India. Yet another Hindu girl murdered by her Muslim boyfriend. He shoved her dead body into a suitcase.”

The truth about the viral video of the murder from Kaliyar, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the sensitive video came to our notice, we conducted research and found that this was an old incident from Kaliyar, Uttarakhand.
To verify the claims made by the users, we did a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google which led us to several media reports containing the same visuals.
According to several media reports (Jagran, ETVBharat, News18), A man named Gulbej killed his girlfriend after she refused to marry him. The incident occurred in March 2022. The victim’s name was Ramsha and her father was identified as Rashid. The accused and victim were distant relatives. The entire incident had nothing to do with Hindu girls.
Hence, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the incident is old and had nothing to do with a Hindu girl being killed by her Muslim boyfriend. The victim Ramsha and the accused Gulbej belonged to the same community.
