Making a post on X (Formerly Twitter) serial fake news peddler and propagandist account @NavCom24 wrote, “UN 2024 research report declares India involved in 72.3% of the terrorist activities in Asia.”
Another Pakistan-based propaganda account @TacticalTribun also made a post and wrote, “UN 2024 research report says India is involved in 72.3% of the terrorist activities in Asia.”

The truth behind the claims about 2024 UN research report, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the claims made by propagandists came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis regarding the claims. We found that the United Nations didn’t publish any such report regarding India.
To verify the claims made by propagandists. We performed relevant keyword searches but couldn’t find any credible sources supporting these claims. No verified UN report made such an assertion. The United Nations does not publish statistical breakdowns like this in its counter-terrorism reports. Instead, terrorism assessments are conducted by organizations such as the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) through the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) and agencies like the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT).
India, in reality, faces significant terrorism threats, especially in Jammu & Kashmir, from Pakistan-based terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. According to the GTI 2024, India ranked 14th among the most terrorism-affected countries. In the Global Terrorism Index 2025, India’s position remained unchanged at 14th.
Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the UN has not published any such reports supporting these claims.
