Fact Check: Video of school bus aide attacking a student in Florida circulated with misleading communal claims

A disturbing video showing an individual violently attacking a child on a bus has been shared with false claims that an Indian Hindu bus driver on an H-1B visa was caught assaulting white Christian children. However, these allegations are baseless and misleading. Reports confirm that the accused, identified as Abieser Pinillos, a resident of Port St. Florida. Lucie, has been arrested—indicating he is neither Indian nor Hindu.

Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter), propaganda account @ExcclesiaLatin wrote, “Indian Hindu bus driver sharing his culture and religious values with white Christian children, squeezing the white privilege out of them. God bless the H-1B!. They hate you.”

Another propaganda account, @IndianInvasionN, also shared the video and wrote, “America, Indian Hindu bus driver sharing his culture and religious values with white Christian children, squeezing the white privilege out of them. They hate you.”

The truth behind the claims, Fact Check 

As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis regarding the incident. We found that the accused was neither Indian nor Hindu.

To verify the claims made by propagandists. We performed relevant keywords search and found media reports regarding the incident. According to the media reports (1, 2), the accused, identified as Abieser Pinillos, a resident of Port St. Lucie, has been arrested—indicating he is neither Indian nor Hindu. The incident took place on March 13th, at approximately 4:30 PM, involving a 9-year-old special needs child aboard an ESE school bus in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The bus was occupied by other students, the driver, and Pinillos, who was serving as the bus aide. 

Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the accused was neither Indian nor Hindu.

Propagandists are circulating sensitive videos from Florida, US, with misleading claims to set their narrative against India and Hindus.
