Israel-Palestine Conflict — Old Video Of anti-Israel Protest From London, Resurfaced as Recent: Fact-Check

What are people claiming after watching the video?

In the wake of the recent anti-Israel protests that erupted across Europe, a video has surfaced showing cars with Palestinian flags on their bonnets driving on the road. The video purports to show a pro-Hamas caravan abusing Jews as it drives through the streets of London.

With the word “disgusting” trending on Twitter in response to the video, social media users who shared it called it “shameful and concerning.”

The misleading claim was shared by several twitter users on X, including, Diksha Choudhary (“@cutedikshaji“), who shared the video with the caption “”F**k #Jews, r*pe Jew women” type hate slogans are being raised in London & security agencies are allowing them to do because Pakistani IsIamist Sadiq Khan is the Mayor of the city.. Britain is doomed!!!”

Users claimed that inappropriate and rude words were used abusing Jews spreading hate after watching the video during the Israel – Palestine conflict.

Verified twitter users, including Megh Updates (“@MeghUpdates“), Charlie Kirk (“@charliekirk11“), also supported the claim, which further led to spreading the fake news to more number of users on social media.

Fact

The truth regarding the video is that it is an old footage from a pro-Palestinian rally in St John’s Wood in May 2021, during which anti-Semitic remarks were made. It is unrelated to the current battle between Israeli security forces and terrorists from Hamas.

The clip, which appeared on social media on Sunday afternoon, May 16, showed vehicles travelling down Finchley Road while flying Palestinian flags on their bonnets. One individual seemed to be yelling nasty, anti-Semitic remarks into a loudhailer.

“Jews, fk the, fuck all of them, fk the mothers, f**k the daughters” one person can be heard saying in the video. It sounds like they’re saying “rape their daughters” as well.

After confirming that it was aware of a video purporting to contain anti-Semitic remarks, the Metropolitan Police Department launched “urgent enquiries” to find the perpetrators.

MyLondon shared an article where it gave a clear idea that the video which went viral during the Israel – Palestine conflict is actually an old video from St John’s Wood.

D- Intent Data confirms that the claim made by the users is not true at all. Old videos with exaggerated claims are being circulated as misinformation.
