Several users, influencers and propagandists have made posts regarding the incident and projected it as a religion-based hate crime.
Sharing the image of the girl, Sachin Gupta (@SachinGuptaUP) made a post on X and wrote, Uttar Pradesh: A 16-year-old Muslim girl who was missing for 4 days in the Sardhana area of Meerut was murdered. Serial fake news peddler and propagandist account @iamharunkhan on X has also made a post and said, Uttar Pradesh Meerut. A 16 y/o Muslim girl, missing for 4 days from Saradhana, Meerut, has been found killed. Her body was discovered in a forest, and her face was reduced to a skeleton. Family Alleges- “She was gang raped killed and acid was poured on her face”.
Another account IWC Uttar Pradesh said, Another Muslim girl murdered in Uttar Pradesh, a 16-year-old Muslim girl missing for 4 days was murdered in Meerut’s Sardhana area. Today her body was found in the forest, her face had completely turned into a skeleton.

The truth behind the communal claims, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the claims came to our notice, we conducted research and found that the incident had nothing to do with religious hate crime as being projected on social media.
During the research, we found multiple media reports, ( Dainik Bhaskar, Nav Bharat Times), according to the reports, the father of the deceased has filed a case against Haseen, Shahrukh, Ikramuddin, and Mohsin.
We also found a police statement regarding the incident, according to the police, a case has been registered and the main accused has been arrested. Further action is being taken.
Hence, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the incident has nothing to do with religious hate crime. The deceased and all the accused belong to the same community, further action is being taken.
