Old Video Of Bulldozer Destroying Billboard of McDonald’s Resurfaced With False Claims: Fact-Check

‍An old video depicting a bulldozer demolished McDonald’s billboard has been circulated as a recent video, depicting Palestinian demonstrators tearing down the advertising boards of McDonald’s.

Verified accounts on twitter, including Shirin Khan (“@Shirinkhan0“) tweeted “Boycott this shit. #BoycottMcDonalds” and shared the video on Dec 29, 2023. The tweet has received an about 24.8k views on X.

Several other accounts, including Khalissee (“@Kahlissee“) also made the same claim that the video shows Palestinian supporters demolishing McDonald’s advertising boards. The archive can be read from above.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

We looked into it and discovered that the same YouTube video was posted in October 2018—five years ago. This video is unrelated to the recent McDonald’s boycott campaign by Palestinian supporters.‍
