A video showing a group of people harassing a man has been circulated with the claim that a Hindu teacher was humiliated, manhandled, and forced to resign by “revolutionary students fighting against dictatorship” in Bangladesh. However, D-Intent Data has found that these claims are incorrect. The individual in question is not Hindu but Muslim.
The video disseminated with communal claims
Several users, influencers and propagandists have shared the video of a group of men harassing an individual. And made false communal claims.
Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter), serial fake news peddler and propagandist account, @MrSinha_ wrote. “Hindu teacher Humiliated, manhandled & forced to resign by “revolutionary students who are fighting against dictatorship” in Bangladesh. Later, he deleted the post.
Another propaganda account @RealBababanaras has also shared the video and wrote, Dear Casteist Hindus Watch carefully. They didn’t ask the caste before doing it. You are Hindu, this is enough for them. A Hindu teacher in Bangladesh has been insulted by Muslim students he once taught and was forced to resign. Every day, thousands of Hindus in Bangladesh are being pressured to sign resignation letters. Their aim is to remove all 2.5 million Hindus working in Bangladesh. Over 20000 Hindus have resigned due to the pressure of Islamists in Bangladesh.
Propaganda account @RadharamnDas has also shared the video and wrote, Another Hindu teacher in Bangladesh has been insulted by Muslim students he once taught and was forced to resign. Every day, thousands of Hindus in Bangladesh are being pressured to sign resignation letters. Their aim is to remove all 2.5 million Hindus working in Bangladesh.

The truth about the viral video, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the video of a group of people harassing an individual inside an office came to our notice, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that the victim man in the video is not Hindu, but a Muslim individual.
To verify the claims made by the users, we performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google Lens which led us to media reports containing the same visuals. The media reports indicate that Chapainawabganj Municipality Executive Engineer Taufiq Islam was compelled to resign due to cigarette packets found in his office. Hence, the claims about the man being a Hindu teacher are false and unfounded.
Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the viral video shows the Municipality Executive of Chapainawabganj, Engineer Taufiq Islam being forced to resign because cigarette packets were found in his office.
