Old Image Of Sex Doll From Thailand Circulated as Woman Raped in Maldives: Fact-Check 

A blurry photo of a human corpse lying on the ground has gone viral, accompanied by a fake story and a false claim about how a girl who visited the Maldives was discovered dead and naked close to the shore after being tortured and gang-raped before getting killed.

Verified accounts on twitter, including lee (“@Leeonie_2“) tweeted “A girl who went on a trip to the #Maldives was found dead naked near the seashore. She was gang-raped and tortured before being killed!” on Jan 10, 2024. The tweet has received an about 85.7k views on X.

Several other accounts, including Azzat Alsalem (“@AzzatAlsaalem“), @sanatani23hindu, @bhagwakrantee also made the same claim that a girl who visited the Maldives was allegedly found dead and naked near the shore after being subjected to gang rape and torture. The archive can be read from above.

In actuality, this picture shows a “sex doll” at a beach in Chonburi, eastern Thailand’s Bang Saen district. It is unrelated to the Maldives.

BIG WORLD TALE published an article on this incident on August 19, 2022 with the headline “Scared beachgoers call police over ‘murdered woman’ as sex doll washes up”. We also visited dailymail, which also confirmed that when the police investigated the matter, they found out that it was an AV doll, which was found in the Bang Saen district’s beach.
